Charlotte Pruvost

PhD

My research focuses on late Pleistocene and early Holocene lithic industries in Africa. These issues led me to study during my Master's degree epipaleolithic assemblages from North Africa, before joining the research program "Human Population and Palaeoenvironment in Africa" focused on West Africa. Within the framework of this project, I am currently working on a PhD thesis on Late Stone Age industries from MIS 2 to Early Holocene in the Falémé River Valley, in eastern Senegal. I study these assemblages, mostly made of quartz, through a technological approach of the lithic artefacts and the associated chaînes opératoires.
